Victor Rodger

Victor Rodger is an award-winning writer and producer of Samoan and Scottish descent.

His first play, SONS, premiered in 1995 and his subsequent works include the internationally acclaimed BLACK FAGGOT and MY NAME IS GARY COOPER. His latest play, THE BOY FROM VAIALA, will premiere next year.

Through his theatre entity, FCC (FLOW, CREATE, CONNECT) he has also produced critically acclaimed productions of Tusiata Avia’s WILD DOGS UNDER MY SKIRT, which played Off-Broadway in 2020 and THE SAVAGE COLONISER SHOW which debuted at the Auckland Arts Festival in 2023.

He is currently working on FCC’s next production: THE BOY FROM VAIALA.

In 2021 Victor was named an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to theatre and Pacific Arts. In 2024 he became an Arts Laureate.
