Rebecca Hawkes

Rebecca Hawkes is a painter-poet from rural Canterbury, based in Wellington. Her first collection Meat Lovers (Auckland University Press) was a finalist in the US Lambda Literary Awards and winner of a Laurel Prize in the UK. She edits the annual journal Sweet Mammalian and co-edited the anthology No Other Place to Stand. Her illuminated manuscript chapbook HIDE is arriving soon with ngā pukapuka pekapeka, and her next collection Fool's Spring is forthcoming in the US and Aotearoa next year.
