For the Dutchborn Miriam Lancewood adventure started when meeting the New Zealander Peter Raine in India. They left civilisation behind and went into the NZ wilderness. For seven years they moved around like nomads, cooked on a fire, slept in a tent and Miriam learned to hunt with bow and arrow, and later with a rifle.

Her memoir Woman in the Wilderness became an unexpected international Bestseller. In 2017 they flew to Europe. Her sequel Wild at Heart tells the loving, heart breaking, harrowing and horror story of what happened in just two years.
