Vulnerability, fluorescent islands and resilient teabags

  • National Library of New Zealand 70 Molesworth Street Wellington, Wellington, 6011 New Zealand (map)

What surprises lurk in this blend? Join Crip the Lit for an eclectic hour of word inspiration as they explore the contentious label of being ‘vulnerable’ from inside out and upside down.

Crip the Lit promotes, fosters and amplifies the voices of writers with the lived experience of disability. They have been regulars at LitCrawl since 2016 and in 2019 published Here we are, read us: Women, disability and writing in multiple accessible formats. They believe it’s vital that disability is represented and celebrated as part of the richness and diversity of humanity in all genres of literature and in film, television and video.

The line-up includes script-writers, novelists, columnists, memoir writers and poets: Alice Mander, Charlotte Simmonds, Helen Vivienne Fletcher, Henrietta Bollinger, L.J. Ritchie, Maisie Chilton Tressler, Robyn Hunt and Trish Harris

This event will have NZ Sign Language interpretation.
