D. Nandi Odhiambo is the winner of the 2018 Elliot Cades Award for Literature for an Established Writer. He's the author of four novels: Smells Like Stars (Book*hug 2018), The Reverend's Apprentice (Arsenal Pulp Press 2008), Kipligat's Chance (Penguin Canada 2003, St. Martin's Press 2004), and diss/ed banded nation (Polestar Press 1998). He has an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a PhD in English from the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa. Currently, he is Associate Professor of English at the University of Hawai'i--West O'ahu. His next book is a work of literary criticism to be published by Lexington Books in 2021
